We have little concept of time. The internet only became widely used 30 years ago, man first set foot on the moon 55 years ago, WW1 began 110 years ago, Henry VIII reigned 500 years ago, the Roman empire ended 1500 years ago, Jesus is believed to have lived 2000 years ago.

The solution to the housing crisis would be far better delivered by spreading the magic created by @DTEProject, working with communities, refugees and health recovery patients to build their future. 10x benefits for same ££

Carspiracy and Motornormativity // Get your brains around the craziness of the way we've traded quality of life and 40,000 earlier than needed deaths a year for the convenience and supremacy of the auto. Crazy days we live in. https://t.co/htZrR49oG4

Just sayin' 🤷‍♂️ Wales! You continue to blow us away with your dedication and commitment to recycling - we couldn't be more proud and you couldn't be more deserving of this recognition. Find out how you can help Wales get that number 1 spot: https://t.co/rlfHs77ocL

First it was the strange hue of the trees now it’s a real life nightmare. This is very hard to take, it must be shared because none of us can escape this. A catastrophe like we’ve never known is unfolding & exploding at an incredible rate. 🧵 #tasmania

Fawning reports of the royal selfie with Taylor Swift all over the BBC, but search the BBC website in vain for coverage of 100,000 people marching in central London same day to #RestoreNatureNow & protect life on Earth (including swifts)

You know I love the @BBC & celebrate all the things we pay our licence fee for . But yesterday whilst 100K peaceful people marched to demonstrate their love for life all I could find on @BBCNews was a selfie of the gas-guzzling @taylorswift13 . Im sorry but thats a disgrace

Today is #ShowYourStripes, when we encourage people to start conversations about climate change using simple 'warming stripes' data visualisations. The world is warming mainly because of burning fossil fuels. The consequences are becoming more visible. It's time to take action.

It’s time to #ShowYourStripes! We kicked things off last night at @HayCastle, projecting Hay-on-Wye’s climate stripes to share our concern about the changing climate and urgent need for action. 📸: Adam Tatton-Reid

The numbers of people internally displaced due to climate change related disasters is astonishing: China 4.7 million Turkey 4.1 million Philippines 2.6 million Somalia 2 million... the list goes on. Even more astonishing? The broad international blindness to the issue.

One medium-sized street tree produces the same home cooling effect as 10 air-conditioning units running 20 hours a day. Tree-lined streets are the difference between life and death in cities like #Delhi today, & London tomorrow. Me, for @BigIssue...👇 https://t.co/S7i9pgsVPr

To all UK journalists: the climate crisis needs to feature more in this election campaign. You have an opportunity to put climate change on the front pages tomorrow. Ask @UniofReading for the images you can use. #ShowYourStripes

People who follow the news are more likely to agree with statements such as ‘Most people care only about themselves.’ They more often believe that we as individuals are helpless to better the world. They are more likely to be stressed and depressed. /1

The least painful, least expensive path away from climate and nature breakdown starts with the choices we make every day. 1. Switch your bank to an ethical one 2. Lobby all every political candidate you can to take appropriate action on climate. 3. Celebrate success.

Professor Kevin Anderson is addressing all of us in very clear words: »We are heading towards 3 to 4°C of warming across this century, an absolute climate catastrophe for all species incl our own. And all we are doing so far is giving rhetoric and optimism and greenwash.« 🧵1/8
