Yes, I do them all the time! If there's a specific lesson that you want me to teach for any grade level, email us and request it. Happy to teach any lesson I haven't already taught. We can do it at a time that is convenient for you and your class, then invite others to join us!

The homeowner saw on the security camera that a bear was playing on the outdoor swing every day, but couldn't get on. So he had a bigger swing built, and this was the result.

What a surprise. I promised to write pictarithms to celebrate Katie's birthday in November, but had never met her and only knew her from this tweet. Who was at several of my workshops last week in person? Katie! November 20 is going to be a big day!
Loved seeing this awesome thinking challenge in the hallway! One kiddo confidently told me it needed to be changed up already because he was ready for the next challenge! 😆🫡 @gregtangmath I might need some more ideas soon! 😆

Last week I got to do 3 parent workshops in Texas and Missouri, did many sessions with Gr K-5 students, and did 8 sessions with K-5 teachers. Look forward to continuing our work together in all 3 districts!

Are 2 groups of 4 the same as 4 groups of 2? Total is the same but the number of groups and number in each group are different. Critical distinction when kids learn to multiply in Gr 3. Hearing the difference starts in Kinder & becomes super important in Gr 4-5 with fractions!

The foundation for subtraction with regrouping starts in Grade K! Shift 1 in Kindergarten, 10 in 1st grade, 10 & 100 in 2nd grade, and by 3rd grade many kids can do triple-digit subtraction with 2 regroupings in their head. Transition to standard algorithm is easy. Progressions!

I will post K-6 grade pictarithm on every "holiday." Why in quotes? I try to provide puzzle-y problems as many days as possible. We celebrate ground hog day, Bastille day, the Ides of March, Cinco de Mayo & regular holidays, too. Tell me your birthday and we'll celebrate it!

Lunch in Portugal! Fernando, on the right, took care of all my mom's banking needs when she'd go to his branch. He retired 2 years ago and went home to Lisbon. Today, I got to thank him for being so nice to her.
