I'm seeing momentum over on Blue Sky. I plan to post more there and probably show up less here. https://t.co/DIr6VuM6Sh

If you’re still here, consider coming over to https://t.co/MEL0ZBfo7T instead. Find me @goodmanseth.bsky.social Bluesky. More engagement, fewer Nazis.

When your public transit agency does something good, say so! Positive feedback has more influence than negative feedback, because it’s more rare and usually more thoughtful. An example from Boston of how it’s done.

I created an account (@goodmanseth.bsky.social) some months ago. Came back to this hellsite due to lack of activity, but now *does* seem different.

One day people like me will get to come through the front door like everyone else. To do that we’ll have to defeat NIMBYs on more than just housing.

I sure hope Boston is planning on leaving this ugliness in the past, but it doesn’t really look like it here.

Every debate over a building’s aesthetic merits also is a debate over whether people will have their basic needs satisfied and whether we will be allowed to live integrated as neighbors.

Every project delayed by years for “public outreach” is justice deferred for the people who fought for the Fair Housing Act amendments of 1988.

Most of Boston isn’t accessible to people with disabilities because most buildings are very old. Extensive review of development aims to keep the city’s buildings older for longer. They even debate whether new buildings with modern accessibility features should exist at all.

As we work to improve Boston’s development review process, we looked at cities across North America to learn from their experiences. Check out our peer cities reports on our project page to learn more: https://t.co/sVOt1R1dfI

This is also a fundamental problem for transit vs. cars:

Remember, if you look at a broader set of prices, it becomes clear that the key factor for what has gotten more expensive and what has gotten cheaper is not government-related vs private — it's goods vs services.

We're making historic investments in accessibility to ensure everyone can get where they need to go. As we cheer on our Paralympians in Paris, let's continue to improve transportation at home so that all Americans can navigate our communities. Go, Team USA!

In March, I collaborated with @WillieBurnleyJr & the Administration to propose removing unnecessary parking mandates currently required in many parts of the city. At tonight’s City Council meeting, draft zoning language is on the agenda:
