As Mike signs off ESPN radio for the last time, our family wanted to say thank you to all of the loyal listeners who have joined in every morning over the last 22 years.
We could not be more proud of Mike as a man, father and professional . We love you Mike ❤️

Pretty weird, 1st day knowing I’m done on ESPN radio. Brings up a lot of thoughts, but the one that stands out most is how fortunate I was to connect with so many of you everyday. I really enjoyed hearing your stories of with whom and how you consumed the show.....1/2
@Kenny_Mayne
We are getting to the point of being able to start a new network with former ESPN employees that were show the door. Loved our time as Teammates Kenny, hope our paths cross soon.
Really enjoyed calling a college game again,congrats to Louisiana for their road victory over Iowa St. I look forward to continuing to call games.....more importantly, just extremely happy to have football back for all of us to enjoy!!!
Ole Miss player got tossed for targeting,by rule it was, for safety reasons you need to see what you hit, he did lead with top of helmet..but stop stop stop ejecting them, 15yd penalty and play on, or at make it 2 targeting and you’re ejected, like 2 techs in BB. Just my opinion
and sharing my family with all of You!!! To those who listened and watched for so many years, THANK YOU, I’m not done, this just closes a chapter, I look forward to what’s next. This picture feels like the only one I want to leave you with.3/3
Absolutely love David Baker coming on the shows and telling Bill Cowher and Jimmy Johnson they have been inducted to HOF..... just so cool, and deserved.... stunning yet again Jimmy isn’t in the cowboy ring of honor... time to get a clue Jerry Jones
Getting ready to make the 2nd round pick for the Eagles....sitting backstage talking to Anthony Munoz....John Randle....and Franco Harris....seriously, just amazing
Really enjoyed the debut of the AAF. I like the pace of play with the shorter play clock, these players are hungry for a shot or another shot at NFL, some new rules are intriguing, and it’s nice to see good hard hits not flagged. Look forward to more games.
Ok...watched both XFL games, thought for 1st games they went pretty well... they will get better...really enjoyed some of the new rules and the transparency of dialogue with coaches, and refs. Mostly though, I’m very happy guys just on the outside are getting an opportunity.
Couldn’t be happier for
@SydGolic
and
@Ben_Braunecker
Syd you will always be my little girl, and Ben I couldn’t be more honored to have you as a son-in-law. Congrats to you both
Happy 30th birthday to
@MGolicJR57
very proud of the man you have become, and can’t tell you how much fun it is to get to work with you everyday. Enjoy your day!! Love ya
They say you love all your kids the same…..that’s bull***t….I rank my kids everyday…
@mikegolicjr
is not only behind Jake, and Sydney…but now he’s also ranks behind my 3 dogs Hank, Harry, and Ted
Wow, I can’t thank you all enough for the kind words, I really do appreciate it.... it’s been a fun run, going to be very weird come August 1st, but I’m not riding off into the sunset yet, my wife doesn’t want me around that much yet.... thank you again for all your thoughts
This week alone we lost two of the most iconic people in their fields…John Madden in the sports world and now Betty White in the entertainment world….just another reason to be done with this shitty year. RIP to both, and thanks for the incredible memories!!!
Gotta love NFL Kicking off tonight....I’m miss talking for 4hrs each morning.... so if you feel the need, hit me up with some questions about tonight’s game or your team! Twitter version of our old radio segment
Grill Golic.....
Congrats to Army..... this game is such a pleasure to watch, what great tradition, and knowing the thousands of men and women in that stadium on both sides are going to protect our freedom makes it that much more special. Thank you
@ProFootballTalk
Such a bullshit take…..53 guy make a roster, guys that get cut, may get chances somewhere else all out there doing shit you couldn’t dream of…..seriously, such a bullshit take, you just have 0 clue
Weird day this Dec. 22nd. While I still have Alamo bowl and Fiesta bowl on my ESPN schedule, I was at ESPN today for the last time. There have been many changes since it became my work home in Oct. of 1998. Some good, some not so good. I’ve made many friends through 1/3
I honestly don’t understand the Tebow move at all, 8yrs out of ball, never played the position, can he block? Can he catch? Is this the way Urban is running the show......let’s not forget Urban’s ridiculous hire of the former Iowa strength coach, which lasted about a day.
@FirstTake
@TimTebow
Sorry, disagree with this.... loving your college and being a team player, and making money off of your likeness, don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
I’m such a lucky person, got to feed my daughter
@SydGolic
her first food now 29yrs later got to do the same thing for her daughter Alex. Life is good!!
Interesting part about the Duke vs UCF game is....Duke players move on to next game and put this one behind them, while UCF players will live with this well beyond their playing days.....athletes always remember the what if’s more than the what good happened.
Happy birthday to this lovely young lady
@SydGolic
while you have grown into a beautiful woman and occasional drinking buddy, you will always be my little girl. Daddy loves you
RIP Sean Connery, for my money the best Bond there was, to go along with so many more great characters he played, loved his tough guy roles!!! Thank you for all the entertainment.
I enjoy these celebrities match play events and
@PhilMickelson
needs to be in every one of them…..he explains things so well, and has much fun at his opponents expense.
I’m always amazed when people are critical of what someone gets paid if Raiders wants to pay Jon Gruden or John Doe or Jane Doe 100 mil who cares, why is that an issue? They offered it, he took it, so.......
Congrats to UCF.... monster win, such a shame they don’t get a chance on the big stage, only chance is when playoffs get expanded, it will happen, just a matter of when
I’m very interested in the explanation of taking the ball out of Rodgers hands on 4th and goal, kicking the FG and giving the ball back to Brady with the lead and 2 minutes to go.
This fine young man, Jackson,came into the world Sunday. A huge congrats to my son Jake, but certainly more to his lovely wife
@JennyGolic
who did an incredible job, cant wait to hold this bundle of joy
@BrittMcHenry
There are a whole lot of I’s in your tweet, when it’s not about you.....
@JOEL9ONE
does a hell of a lot for a hell of a lot of people, I’d rather not judge someone who helps as much as he does...
The only thought is about Damar, I’ve never seen that on the field,while we always know some kind of injury is a probability, THAT kind of situation never comes to mind, players aren’t robots, not sure how they can play,unless they hear something positive about Damar.
Last year, this man lost his 16-yr old son in a car wreck. He decided to donate his son’s organs, including his heart.
This month the heart recipient sent Dad a surprise gift - a teddy bear with a recording of his son's heartbeat.
Wait for it...💪❤️🌎
Iowa vs LSU certainly lived up to the hype. Caitlin Clark is absolutely ridiculous shooting the ball, also really like Angel Reese’s toughness on the inside, demanding the ball and grabbing rebounds. Iowa just the better team tonight. Congrats to both teams, really fun to watch.
Enjoyed making the 2nd round pick for the Eagles.....my apologies to Devonta Smith....for calling him Davis.....bad job out of me. But I do love their first 2 picks
Very sad to hear of the passing of Regis Philbin, he was the consummate host who made all feel welcome, such an incredible entertainment career, and a Notre Dame man who always represented the school well.
Congrats to all late round picks and signed or soon to be signed Undrafted FA...you now have an opportunity, you will get a helmet and shoulder pads like everyone else, LEARN YOUR PLAYBOOK. Take advantage of EVERY rep. All out each rep...good luck
The trade Justin Fields talk is interesting, I don’t agree with it, Justin doesn’t have a lot around him yet, is he a great passer? No, but that can improve, why trade him and take a chance on another rookie, I believe he’s proven enough at this point. Get him some help!!
Wow……what an incredible moment for 17yr old Lydia Jacoby, first Olympic swimmer from Alaska, wins the gold in the 100m breast….the pure shock and joy on her face was so amazing!!!! Congrats to her🥇
My daughter
@SydGolic
is helping me with my social media, we just finished something..within seconds I got this email from her
Good afternoon Mike,
After the filming and labor of filming your gifs, the total you owe me is $150,000.
Let me know how you’d like to transfer.
@jeffmu
@RexChapman
@JohnClaytonNFL
This really hits hard, what a great man and friend, who was also sooo good at his job…..he loved football, he was such a great teammate, and so well respected….condolences to the family. RIP John!!
@KendrickPerkins
I mean what are we doing here…..there are no words to describe the absolute tragedy of a person losing their life at a little league football game, I mean what in the actual f***k are we doing!!!!
Getting ready to call the Alamo bowl 9 EST on ESPN TX vs Colo. had to get this pic with Bevo...... wanted one with Ralphie but he didn’t make the trip.
What a shock about Andrew Luck, everybody deals with physical and mental pain, and rehab differently. Really hope he can catch his breath and come back to the game, if not, hope he finds closure in the decision and enjoys post FB life.
Another loss in the sports world at the passing of Dan Reeves, 38yrs in NFL as player and coach, participated in 9 SB’s…QB in college to RB in the NFL, tough runner, tough successful coach. Played against his teams multiple times, teams played tough like him, so respected. RIP!
