I used inducible CRISPR/Cas9 to make Trypanosoma brucei cell line that allowed me to edit originally muti-copy histone gene. We uncovered a novel role of H4 histone tail in gene regulation. I had a great time working on this exciting project! https://t.co/9Hp0mUqrq2

Parasites need mitochondrial respiration to cause disease. Indeed, common anti-malaria drugs target respiratory enzymes (e.g. atovaquone). But how do the parasite enzymes work and how do drugs inhibit them? Read @AndrewEMaclean and Alex Mรผhleip phenomenal work to find out! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Grateful for the ability to support @veupathdb. It is fundamental to our lab's daily research activities. We had a few issues initially making the payment, but the team was very helpful. I hope we can come together as field to keep this vital resource!
