Dünyanın Dört Bucağından Kitap Kulübü üyeleriyle birlikte ikinci kez @gnolbo'nun Güzellik Bir Yaradır adlı romanını okuyorum. Endonezya edebiyatından dilimize çevrilmiş birkaç kitaptan biri. Muhteşem. #okuyunduacımolursunuz

Siapa yang nggak merinding baca mahakarya @gnolbo ? Lihat nih ada Cantik Itu Luka dalam 2 bahasa 🇰🇷 Korea (아름다움 그것은 상처) cover botani, lush & elegan 🇯🇵 Jepang (美は傷): dark–ethereal, vibes sastra Jepang yang misterius. Sama cerita, beda rasa. Dua-duanya cakep🤍🖤

"Kurniawan’s story, novella more than novel, seems sure to offend fundamentalist sensibilities, and has plenty of unsettling moments for the secular reader, too." -- Kirkus Review https://t.co/IR2qZCoBck

★ In this sweet novella from Eka Kurniawan, Sato Reang’s devout father guides him to become a pious Muslim boy, a direction he chafes at as he grows older. This brims with humor and heart. @NewDirections

You can tell when people don’t engage much with fiction because they expect the heroes of stories to be morally perfect and assume that all the views expressed in a story are the views of the writer. Demanding that all characters be unproblematic angels is the death of fiction.
