After the steep changes to @Delta Skymiles, I reluctantly ditched them after a decade+ of loyalty. I switched to @SouthwestAir and quickly racked up status. But the #1 thing I hate about it is the open seating. Thankfully, they're changing that. Kudos! https://t.co/qzzen3kJBr

100000% this. Observability TOOLS are just the framework. Whether or not you “have” observability comes from how quickly and thoroughly you can answer any question about app performance by following what the data tells you. Building that muscle takes practice and time.
(2c: buying Observability via tools is like buying Fitness via gym memberships. Sure, you can have a wonderfully detailed vendor, but the property we're talking about comes from the usage of this stuff to solve your goal, not just buying capabilities).

So, we lost the battle to define observability. You know it, I know it. Observability was supposed to *mean* something, and in the early days, it did. "Observability" once meant the kind of exploratory, open ended investigation our systems increasingly demand.
