There are fewer than 800 spoon-billed sandpipers worldwide. We've been supporting partners overseas to protect the future of 'spoonies' - by head-starting chicks, studying migration patterns and restoring wetland habitats. #WorldWildlifeConservationDay

Phalarope legs are rarely seen, as these amazing birds spend most of their time in water. However, even aquatic birds have to nest on land, and this little fellow was spotted sneaking back to his nest, allowing for a peek. #PhalaropePhriday #LegsForDays #Borb

Is there anything more delightful than a chance sighting of River Otters? Habitat loss & environmental pollution affect River Otters throughout their range. Keeping our waters clean & protecting riparian areas are two ways we can support local populations of this beloved animal.

Pledge to stand with us as we call on building owners, managers, and homeowners to turn off excess lighting during migration season to prevent needless bird deaths and ensure that birds have a safe and #BirdFriendly passage: https://t.co/faEe0D3YJH

We urge the Ontario Government and Therme Canada to address risk factors for birdwindow collisions and light attraction at the Ontario Place redevelopment, and to avoid creating ecological traps that will cause harm to local and migratory birds. https://t.co/776caDBbCw

#Didyouknow most birds migrate at night, relying on moonlight and starlight to help them navigate? Dimming the lights allows birds to follow their instincts and migration patterns & helps prevent fatal #birdcollisions with lit structures. 💡 #DimtheLightsforBirds #MigrationMonday

Humans of NYC, there is a very rare bird in Central Park that arrives every October: Halloween Coot. Field marks to differentiate from American Coot - pointy witch hat, the bird is slightly more Goth&also take great care to not give direct eye contact bc they can cast spells! 😉
