Taking a “tough stance” 3 years into your 4 year team seems a little too politically motivated. Word is, Sim’s polling numbers are worse than previous mayor at this point (and they were bad). He needs a new narrative. Is this it? What do you think?.
Just in: The City of Vancouver's most senior bureaucrat, City Manager Paul Mochrie, is out, after Mayor Ken Sim announces that he and Mochrie have "mutually agreed that it was the right time for a leadership change."

Dear @Dave_Eby,.Please make a decision about Vancouver @ParkBoard’s future so we can move forward with either replacing the current board in the 2026 election or, if you so decide, not have them at all as per Ken Sim’s request. We need some certainty. It’s in your hands.
Park Board Chair Christensen has ruled that it “does not qualify as urgent business,” thus it will not be heard tonight. Christensen moved it to the next meeting … after the pool is closed for the summer. Howard chose to withdraw her motion.

Gaming it? @ParkBoard.
Not sure if the Park Board will get to Commissioner Howard’s motion calling for an end to the COVID-era reservation system at Kits Pool…. It’s already 9:30pm, and they’re at the green arrow. Still lots to go before the motion has a chance to be presented.

This 👇 (especially Reddit likes) is not fact based decision making by @ParkBoard .Until you have real proof one way or the other, please open kits pool up to a public system that worked for generations. #freekitspool.
@jodyvance @george_affleck Outweighed does not equal unanimous. Outweighed implies two sides. So no, "unanimous" was not inferred. And yes, the top comments on Reddit were in support of the reservation system, which had >250 upvotes. The comments against the reservation system had about 11.
