God hasn't given you everything you've asked for. but He has heard all your prayers. Spurgeon reflecting on Micah 7:7, "My God will hear me":. You notice that in Scripture we do not often find the expression, “My God will answer me.” We do read that he answers prayer, but more.

Spurgeon teaching his congregation to say "Amen" at the end of public prayers:. In the ancient Church it was customary for the entire congregation to say Amen. Paul alludes to this custom in that expression in the Corinthians, where he speaks of persons praying in an unknown.

In 1890, Spurgeon preached a sermon that would later be published as "His Own Funeral Sermon." This sermon was a tribute to a faithful deacon, W. Olney, but it is also a fitting tribute to all faithful servants who serve God in their own generation.
