Our kids deserve a safe and healthy learning environment. Instead, @ChiPubSchool is eliminating 1,200 custodians just two weeks before school starts without any real plan for how these buildings will be cleaned and ready. This is poor leadership by CPS.
Just two weeks before school starts, @ChiPubSchool blindsided 1,200 custodians with layoffs, leaving custodians without a job, income, or healthcare and leaving our students with dirty and unsafe schools. SEIU Local 1 and @SEIULocal73 statement:.
