It certainly seems so strange to me that there are no stats around how many disabled people own pets as it seems this is an area we should be looking at in order to takle many of societies aging, health and loneliness challenges. Just a thought.

It then crossed my mind. In a world of data, why don’t vet practices record whether owners are disabled or not? Would it not make sense, even if it is to support with giving medication and animal care?

I wondered what number of pet owners took their animals to the vet. 87% of dog owners and 76% of cat owners in the UK take their pets to the vet at least once a year.
