Designing national energy policy around the whims of a handful of marginal fossil fuel interests is a bona fide national security crisis.

Leaked documents detail Trump plans to open up offshore oil and gas development.. BOEM maps suggest this could include a large swath of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, including the Bodega and Año Nuevo basins, and Partington basin off Big Sur. https://t.co/Nqrwrfbvgv

Despite the noise, renewables keep rising now generating more electricity than coal as @ember_energy data shows. @IEA halved its US outlook, but raised India’s by 10%, putting it on track as the No. 2 growth market after China. MENA up 23%, driven by Saudi wind and solar.

Arizona is building the first solar canal in the U.S. . Solar-covered canals will generate renewable energy and save water in this notoriously dry area: https://t.co/h7VQMpo9iP We have so many solutions to this crisis. Implement them. #ActOnClimate

Solar and batteries = cheap energy If you want cheap energy, build solar and batteries.
Energy use is way up in Texas but power prices have bucked the national trend and actually declined over the summer, mostly due to solar + storage records. VPPs are also growing in Texas and beginning to put a downward pressure on prices, too. 1/2

Critics of renewables often point to land use as a reason not to do wind & solar. Land use IS a real issue for all energy assets incl renewables unless onsite. But what critics conveniently forget is huge land impact of fossil fuels. Aerial view of fracking sites in Texas. 👇

Brazil’s chopping down the AMAZON RAINFOREST to build a highway for COP30—the climate summit meant to SAVE the planet. Yes, you read that right. They’re bulldozing the world’s lungs to roll out the red carpet for 50,000 climate delegates. The irony is so thick you could choke on

A mostly dead ocean by 2050 UC Santa Barbara researchers project that human impacts on oceans will double by 2050, with warming seas and fisheries collapse leading the charge https://t.co/65Z5KAxgXv

Correct! It is unstoppable, because clean tech is now cost competitive. It now is always cleaner than fossil fuels. It is now often cheaper and soon will always be lower cost. https://t.co/tZkA6xNQGy

This is how China’s wind and solar construction compares to the rest of the world. China currently has 339 gigawatts of wind and solar capacity under construction — roughly two-thirds of the world’s total.

Japan, world's 4th largest economy, cut its fossil fuel generated electricity from 73.1% in June 2018 to 54.8% in June 2025. That's 18.3 points drop in 7 years or 2.6 points/year! Japan may be near zero FF by 2045. Gas fell from 38.1% to 27.4%. Coal fell from 30% to 20%.

There’s a persistent myth that new solar farms don’t really help tackle climate change because panels are “made with coal” and “never pay back” their carbon debt. This is simply false. UN data show solar 8x cleaner than gas, 19x than coal per kWh. Solar repays CO2 in 4months.
