Jim as ever right to highlight this. If you are a Russell Group HEI with 3.6% of your students from TUNDRA Q1, you can throw somewhat more support behind them than those of us with 20% from that group. Those that do the best job at WP often have the least to spend per head.
Per student helped, the spend per head from uni budgets on cash student financial support from the Russell Group in 2022/23 was £2,319. In MillionPlus universities it was £699. Shameful inequality hiding behind nostrums of autonomy.
