In case you missed it, @marchal_dg and @AriSatanowski recently published a potential new option for biological carbon reduction.🧬. It could be a promising approach to enhance CO2 fixation in plant science & synthetic biology!🌱. Congratulations! 👏.
🌿🔬How can we fix #CO2 more efficiently in biological systems? Our new study introduces the CORE cycle, a synthetic pathway that converts CO2 to formate at aerobic conditions and ambient CO2 levels! 🚀🦠 @erblabs @mpi_marburg

@tednsmith and a team from @univgroningen and @HHU_de analyzed twelve alternative pathways to photorespiration and found that pathways that capture carbon showed the most promise. In particular, the TaCo pathway, also used by our colleagues @Crop4Clima.

Our project partner @plantsci recently co-authored a great #OpenAccess article on how the highly efficient C4 photosynthesis might have evolved. 🧬🌿. “These findings might guide the engineering of C4 photosynthesis in C3 crops to improve productivity & resilience.” 💪🌾.
Very pleased to see this work out that identifies a code in C3 rice co-opted to allow C4 photosynthesis. .Thanks to all involved but in particular @l_luginbuehl @JoeEcker @_joseph_swift Great transatlantic partnership. @plantsci.
