"Sucrose synthase (SUS) is a key enzyme that directly hydrolyses sucrose".No. It's a glycosyltransferase. Reversibly cleaves suc to fruc + UDP-/ADP-gluc. If SUS inactivation is why "knockouts increased gluc &.fruc" why are there *zero data* on suc content?.
