Hey, y'all! Just wanted to give a heads up that we're going to be on this hellsite much less often in the immediate future. Frankly, it's just really nice not to feel compelled to argue with anonymous lunatics. Just chill LiveJournal vibes. So, catch us over at the other place

Hey, y'all! Come experience the joy on The Better Site where even you can get into the most ridiculous conversation with a 3-time Pulitzer winner over whether he's a member of an org that's accused of human trafficking and pushing right wing fascism in America

Hey, y'all! Due to recent events in America there has been a huge uptick in the number of people interested in leaving the country. So, we did a whole episode on the dozen-ish ways to get long-term residency or full-on citizenship in other nations.

One thing I think people miss about the fact that many deep red states approved economically progressive ballot measures is that a core difference between a ballot measure and a candidate is the ballot measure is going to do what it says.

People who read Lysistrata fall into two camps - people who view it as a legit blueprint for effective protest - people who recognize that the play has a specific point, but also that Aristophanes' plot falls apart once you acknowledge male violence against women

It's only been a few days, but the volume of people who seem downright relieved to not have to care about other people is staggering. Just scores of people eager for the simple pleasures that hatred and fascism bring.

Hey, someone who didn't have a primary or general election challenger knows why other people lost! Also can't wait for someone to primary @sethmoulton.

Seth Moulton telling ⁦@reidepstein⁩ that identity politics hurt dems “I have two little girls. I don't want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete. But as a Democrat, I'm supposed to be afraid to say that”

None of the swing voters I talked to brought up the progressive faction as an issue they had to voting Democrat Almost entirely revolved around them not seeing what Dems did for them

How quickly some people blame pronouns is telling of a reason we actually lose people our party has previously represented . Our "support" only being for the marginalized when convenient is a reason why people feel tokenized and leave the party

Some liberal accounts are cooking up bizarre "fraud" theories about Donald Trump's win and demanding a recount using #DoNotConcedeKamala. There's zero evidence of widespread irregularities in the election and many votes are still being counted.

Kamala Harris is going to lose and endorsing the mass killing of babies, alongside pitching herself to Republicans, will be why.

Progressive policies won last night. But democrats as a whole tried moving right on various issues and it cost them. But the progressive policy liberals decried won. Liberals wanted more centrist and moderate policy proposals. They lost.

There’s not going to be a 2028 election. Anyone still believing that there will be clearly hasn’t been listening to that man. He’s got the Supreme Court locked down. The only way Trump will leave is if he is in a b*dy bag. It’s over for whatever this so called democracy was.
