4/4.🎯 The Best are Boring. They show up early. They do the routine things with surgical intent. They don’t chase perfection—they chase consistency. Greatness isn’t a moment. It’s a habit. If you want to play this game a long time, master the boring. #FuelAcademyTX.

3/4.đŸ”„ Unshakable Competitive Fire. You can’t fake compete. The elite players burn to beat you—in the box, on the mound, in the weight room. They thrive on pressure, and they don’t back down from confrontation. They play this game like it owes them nothing.

2/4.🔑 Relentless Self-Awareness.The best know exactly who they are as athletes—and who they’re not. They don’t chase trends. They don’t panic in failure. They adjust with purpose because they understand their identity. That’s what gives them staying power.

đŸ§” 1/4.I've been a MLB Pitching Coordinator, college pitching coach, and played professionally for 10 years. The best players in the world—those who stick, not just get there—all have a few rare traits in common. It’s not just velocity or tools. It’s what’s under the hood. đŸ§ âš™ïž.

11/📅 Recruiting Timelines. đŸ”č D1: Mostly late Juniors/Seniors (unless elite).đŸ”č D2: More junior/senior heavy, portal-aware.đŸ”č D3: Academic fit + late bloomers — many spots open late senior year.Don't panic early. Stay in the fight.

10/🧠 Mental Game Matters. College coaches ask:. “Can this kid handle failure?”. “Is he mature?”. “Does he love the process?”. They want grinders, not highlight chasers. Consistency > Flash.

9/📚 Academics = Leverage. Especially for D3 and high-academic D1s (Ivy, Patriot, etc.). A 3.8 GPA + 1300+ SAT can open doors pure talent can’t. Don’t just "stay eligible." Be excellent in the classroom. It buys you options.

7/📌 So What Should HS Players Focus on?. For Freshmen/Sophomores:. Get STRONGER, faster, and more athletic. Build clean, high-quality mechanics. Play against the best competition possible. Get great grades (D3/D1 academic $$ matters!). Be coachable. Be consistent.

6/🔁 D2 & D3 Options = Underrated. Division 2: Lots of talent, scholarships available.Division 3: Academically driven, strong programs, no athletic $ but tons of academic aid. Both divisions recruit more high school seniors and late-bloomers.

5/🎯 What D1s Are Looking For. Unless you're throwing 90+ or hitting tanks against top arms at 15
. They’re not calling yet. D1 skill markers:. 90+ FB by junior year. Sub-6.9 60 with in-game barrels. Clean actions + tools on video vs top comp.

4/⏳ Age is a Weapon. College baseball favors older players. A 19-year-old freshman from a post-grad year or a reclassed player has a physical edge over a 17-year-old. It’s legal. It's strategic. And most programs do it. If you’re young for your grade: be patient.

3/📊 Transfer Portal Changed Everything. Before: Recruit HS kids & develop them. Now: Grab a college player who’s already proven.Impact:.HS recruiting is way slower. Most D1s don’t offer until they miss in the portal. If you’re not a top 5% talent, expect to wait, but not always.

2/⚖ The Playing Field is NOT Even. If you're 16 and dreaming of D1, understand this:. Coaches can now fill rosters with 22-year-olds from the portal. Older = Stronger = Safer pick. Development takes time, and college coaches want ready-now players. There jobs depend on it!.
