‘Prison officers have been left in an “intolerable” position of dealing with frustrated and hopeless prisoners trapped on abolished indefinite jail terms that are an “embarrassment” to Britain, a union chief has warned.’ https://t.co/wPiCAYnaR1

Exclusive: The leader of the Prison Officers’ Association said some people trapped on ‘grossly unjust’ IPP sentences should not be in jail

Proud of my sister Clara and how far we’ve come on our Ipp journey together as a team Just 2 sisters who fought hard for our brothers, the pain and the journey of strength but we’ve kept going all these years She’s now a pastor, she’s worked her socks off @ClaraWhiteipp

A massive happy birthday to Tomo white, an ipp who pinched a mobile phone 15 years ago, then gave it back!” Instead of rehabilitation, he was left bullied battered and bruised by those in charge of looking after him years on end! Now in hospital, this could have been avoided

“Some people fear freedom because they’ve never known it. When life teaches you to shrink, expansion feels uncomfortable.” But freedom isn’t rebellion it’s healing. It’s remembering who you were before the world told you who to be 🥲 @JamesTCobbler

Who’d of thought we’d be here now? Our loved ones living on the abolished IPP sentence recalled BACK to prison, not for committing crimes, but for simply REACTING to the barbaric sentenced and how it’s damaged them! Therapy, not punishment is needed! Do we not owe them it?

We wouldn’t need an extra 299 hospital places if you’d of had this action plan into flipping action! Makes me so sad to hear the distress these lads and lasses are under due to waiting and waiting Prolonged agony which is totally unnecessary now We need it NOW @JamesTCobbler

The government is cutting mental health beds while building more prison cells. When punishment is funded over care, it’s clear: they’re criminalising crisis, not treating it.
