This is for you Mama! 😇😊❤
I know the Ayo Adeife in this story 😁🥰. He's my hubby and is still very much like this - a just and humble man who is always helping people and organisations to become more and fulfil their potential. May God's blessings always be upon him.❤️
Peak Milk wanted an advert to go by 2, and they were in the studio looking for a baby's voice.
The baby that was supposed to come was writing exams and someone said,
“Helen that useless voice you use to make noise, can we use it or see if you can do this thing?”
Some countries have been having peaceful protests for months and less than 5 people have died.
But Nigeria has managed to kill up to 15 innocent peaceful protesters and bystanders in less than two weeks 💔💔💔...for demanding an end to police brutality.
#EndSARS
In Nigeria, SARS police force is more deadly than SARS Cov-2. More young men are being killed by police brutality than by COVID19.
Thus health professionals should not be silent about this. We need to speak up and advocate for an end to SARS brutality.

Thank you LORD for Your abundant mercies, grace and favour!!! ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌

Some international companies have terrible double standards. A big international skincare brand is currently marketing and selling bleaching creams with 4-butyl resorcinol (a big brother of hydroquinone) for daily skincare in Nigeria. This will never be allowed in the west.
Basic phone etiquette : Except you have a personal relationship with someone or there is an emergency, please don't call them at odd hours like 10pm or 11pm. It is inappropriate. lf its urgent try sending a message. Respect people's personal/family time.

Please if you have symptoms of COVID19 do NOT self medicate with Dexamethasone. It may not end well.

Hmmm!
Sadly the only thing that comes to mind with this current regime (word intentionally used) is cannibalism. This govt seems determined to kill and eat its own young people and their livelihood.
Cut cost of governance - No
Stop looting - Never
Tax SMEs more - Oh yes!

Skin care tips for the dry season:
1. Stay hydrated - drink at least 2L of water daily, preferably 3L
2. Moisturize your skin immediately after a bath (within 3 mins of bathing). Emollients like plain shea butter and vaseline are more effective during the dry season.
Today is

Vitiligo is an autoimmune skin condition characterised by patchy loss of skin colour. It can affect any one of any race, age or gender. It is not contagious.
People with Vitiligo are beautiful and deserve love and encouragement!

Bleaching the skin is first a psychosocial problem because it stems from the ideology that dark skin is not as beautiful or attractive as light skin. This ideology is often promoted by society and is a residual influence from colonial times

, please consider banning styrofoam food packs in Lagos state.
For the sake of the environment and future generations.
Let's begin to look for safer alternatives for take away packs. Maybe recycled paper packs as a replacement.

Some African snails esp freshwater snails are carriers of schistosoma mansoni or haematobium.

Nigerian Association of Dermatologists supporting our skin's humble plea 😊
Albinos are prone to skin cancer from sun damage because they do not have any melanin which is protective. This is not a spiritual attack or from eating salt...it is skin cell damage from the sun's UV rays.

Recyclable paper food packs like these can be a safer alternative to styrofoam packs.
Wish we could manufacture them here in the country...

@OgbeniDipo
Was in UK for a bit this year and I realised that Nigeria took more public health precautions than they did. Simple things that were overlooked there perhaps made alot of difference here.
Another thing is we have a young population so many people may have had very mild illness.
Until we start prioritizing healthcare and education in this country we cannot move forward. These are two of 5 major societal indicators that are used to determine a country's progress and quality of life.
Dear people, a reminder that Lagos is not the only state in Nigeria. Police brutality is a nationwide problem not just a Lagos one. Has your state started the panel of enquiry? All state governors should be held accountable.
In which other state have proceedings started?
The truth about antibacterial or antiseptic soap...
So many people today have jumped on the antibacterial or antiseptic soap bandwagon without realising that they can actually do much more harm than good. Yes! Antiseptic soaps are NOT good for you!

I marvel at how he has been able to find favour and support across ethnic, religious, gender and professional lines.
Not everyone is a fan but his fan base is not polarised along the lines that usually divide us. Admirable!
We need a good political leader with such grace 🙏

IITA is not primarily a resort or vacation location. It's an agricultural research institution that also has very beautiful scenery and landscaping and people who love nature will love spending time there.
So it may nt tick all the hospitality boxes as that's not their main focus
Doctors really need to understand better and pay more attention to nutrition. It is a major aspect of health and wellness that is often undervalued and overlooked.
My fellow medics, a certified course in nutrition can only make us better, well rounded practitioners.
@aproko_doctor
Please we cannot over emphasize this enough. Many cream mixers and 'organic' creams are damaging people's skin. Now, about 25-30% of my derm consultations in the last 1 year have these 'organic' creams as the root cause of their skin problems.
Let's be careful please!
More frequently we are seeing children with the adverse effects of skin lightening (bleaching). It is quite saddening! 😩 Toning creams for children are now advertised all over the internet! This needs to stop please!
Stop bleaching children's skin!
Please watch and share. 🙏🏾

@afookayode
Well doc, it could just be because they had it first so by now most of the cases who have not died should have recovered or be recovering. Average duration of the illness is about 20 days.
@iyaboawokoya
But Madam your own children are abroad. You recently proudly posted when your daughter, a health worker in the UK, received her COVID-19 vaccine.
Can you not see this young man as a son and be happy for him?
Why are you so bitter?
There is now evidence of community transmission of

in some parts of Nigeria. Thus ALL frontline health workers must be adequately kitted with the right PPE - N95 face masks, eye shields/ goggles, gloves, aprons, etc.
We must learn from others and

But seriously isn't it time for airlines to start having a paid online medical team on board??? Especially for long haul flights. Almost every flight now there is some medical emergency. Everytime... is there a doctor on board?? Please they should do the needful.
@iyaboawokoya
But the hostage rescue happened in Nigeria meaning that the kidnappers brought him into Nigeria. They likely have strong bases here to have done so.
There has been so much outcry about the menace of armed banditry in the northern region. This issue buttresses that.
Recently saw a patient with oculocutaneous albinism with a huge fungating mass on the neck, likely squamous cell carcinoma. It was his first time seeking medical care since onset 3 years ago because a pastor had told him it was a spiritual problem and he needed deliverance. 💔
Do you know your numbers? Not your bank account or phone numbers o...I mean these numbers:
1. BLOOD PRESSURE
2. BMI
3. WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE
4. BLOOD SUGAR
There are quite a few other numbers we need to know as we get older but we should all start by knowing these ones!

@Bolarinwaiyanu
I grew up in IITA. It is not a resort. Back then people only came there if they had work there or were visiting someone who lived there. But recently they opened up when people found it a nice getaway place because of the serenity & beauty. Kind reviews will help them improve.
Skin talk: So many people falsely believe certain soaps and creams make them dark.
When you ask them to change from a damaging "toning" soap or cream to healthier skincare products like syndets or plain shea butter they return saying these products made them darker.

Please why are mercury-containing soaps not yet banned in the Nigerian market? Some very commonly used antiseptic soaps still contain mercury in up to 3% mercuric iodide concentrations! Knowing the adverse effects of mercury, why are they still permitted?
@NafdacAgency
Nigerians will cut down trees at any opportunity or for flimsy reasons then start lamenting that the sun is scorching hot. 🙄 Trees provide shade and help lower temperatures, stop cutting them down!
And don't forget to use sunscreen and umbrellas o.

For many people it appears "christian values" means policing people's choices - anti-abortion and anti-homosexual not actually loving God and loving your neighbour as yourself.
Well I once read a book that said the strongest demon is the spirit of self-righteousness.

Over scrubbing and over exfoliating the skin does more harm than good! Except you work in the mud or at a construction site you don't need to scrub your skin everyday!
I know in this part of the world we like to scrub and scrub! But it’s detrimental. 👀
Really overwhelmed and overjoyed by the outpouring of well-wishes and congratulatory messages. Thank you all and God bless you!!!
May you all have several reasons to be celebrated and congratulated!!!

Vitiligo is not contagious. Please dont stigmatize or discriminate against people with vitiligo
Now I'm learning why some people say forgive but don't forget. Because people don't change and when you forget the atrocities they have committed they will come back and do them again.
Its very important to document in detail everything that's happening now. Names, dates etc

It's not meant to "ho" because it's not chemically soap, it's a syndet. Syndets are better for the skin because they are pH balanced and don't strip the skin of its natural oils like soap. It's great choice to maintain healthy skin 😊👍🏾
@Mell_mah
However I will review the person, make a diagnosis and determine what is best for them from an expert point of view.
I can then share that with them and the patient. But their view is respected.
See, we are all part of a team we should learn work together respectfully.
Thank you X fam, for the birthday wishes 😁. I am grateful! God bless you and may you always have reasons to celebrate! 🙏🏾
I had the best birthday gift from God last year and today is his first birthday! My adorable son, Samuel! 🥰😍💃🏾🎉🎊 Please say a prayer for him 🙏🏾❤️
I thank God in all things!
As you go through the journey of life, remember to be thankful for the little things while waiting for the seemingly bigger things to arrive.
I repeat, if you are in Lagos and go to work on the mainland from the island please do not be tempted to try and use google map to navigate for now. It will end in premium tears 😭
Google map does not understand what is going on in Lagos right now.
It is well.
Seeing alot of irritating, sniding remarks frm govt aides/SAs today: "I told you so" re - the hijacking of peaceful protests by hoodlums/ thugs 🙄
They forget that if they & their govt had done their job in the first place - securing lives of citizens, we wouldn't be here. 😐
And please don't call at 6.30am in the morning either. Not everyone wakes up very early. Try to keep non-personal calls to official business hours. 9am to 5pm, latest 7pm. Give people breathing space for themselves and their families. Don't be a pest. 🙄
Been seeing alot of keloids on the breasts lately, esp. around the nipple and areola in young women (no kids yet so not due to real breastfeeding) 😄
Please if you have the tendency to form scars or keloids don't allow your boo to bite your nipples 🙏... it may end in tears!
I'm elated to have just completed the Professional Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H) at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

. I am grateful for the opportunity to attend this fantastic course and make life long connections in Global Health!💖
@OgbeniDipo
Also perhaps hot weather and vitamin D (which we have plenty of here because of sun) also helped.
Most of all I think God is merciful. We have enough human disasters (politically) in Nigeria and Africa to have biological disaster added to it again. 😄 🙏
Simple/basic phone etiquette. If you call someone 2-3 times and they dont answer the call please send a text message. Obviously the person is not in the position to pick your call. Dont keep calling incessantly. It is very irritating and rude.
@the_beardedsina
We need to stop cutting down trees and plant more trees everywhere. This will help to some extent. Places where there are more trees are cooler§and the air is fresher (more oxygen).
@beckyfrancis673
My husband cried on my wedding day and the priests entered panic mode...they thought he was crying because didn't want to marry again...😂
There were a few seconds of confusion until one of them realised it was just emotional tears of joy and started laughing.
People who cheat or are corrupt live with it by LYING to themselves that everyone cheats or everyone is corrupt too so it's no big deal. It's how they live with their guilt and shame.
@Mell_mah
It's not proper for you to say that your colleagues are clueless. If they were clueless they wouldn't refer in the first place. They may not use your terminology but I really dont see what is wrong with this form. The doctor should state the areas they think require therapy.

When he declared he was running for president, I remember thinking hope it's not the manic phase of his bipolar disorder. Then he cancelled and it was very obvious that it was...
I hope he gets the medical care he needs and wish him speedy recovery

But they say some ancient African tribes discovered this long ago, as far back as 1870! It was observed that they performed successful caesarean sections naked!
@ireaderinokun
Haba... I think this is highly inconsiderate and immature at this time. People are still in hospital and many are dead 😔.
Also many men still used the symbol even after knowing what it was. Why focus on those who you feel had a problem with it? Not cool. Not now pls👎
Attn dear doctors, pharmacists & nurses! Do you know that medicated soaps and triple action creams are really bad for the skin??😨...esp for children! 🙆🏾♀...if you prescribe them please stop!
Find out why & update your basic dermatology knowledge at this course on Thursday.

1. This is not monkeypox. This is most likely an autoimmune bullous disorder.
2. Monkeypox has been in West Africa for many years. Nigeria had an outbreak in 2017 and 2018 and since then has had pockets of cases in. I've reviewed 2 monkeypox cases this year.
