🗣️ This week, the APPG for MS heard about our research on the challenges people with MS face accessing hospital care. And what can be done to improve hospital experiences. Our thanks to the APPG Chair @OliverRyanMP and everyone who joined us. @AlfDubs @fivanmierlo @Jim4Dartford

I’ve written to Sir Keir Starmer to ask him to table legislation to formally remove Prince Andrew’s titles. I’m pleased to have the support of 27 cross party MPs, with more expressing support in private.

In my maiden speech to parliament I warned Tory leadership hopefuls against leaving the ECHR. Kemi Badenoch has now surrendered policy making to Farage - just how far can the Tories fall?
Kemi Badenoch has chosen the side of Vladimir Putin and Nigel Farage with her plan to leave the European Convention on Human Rights. The ECHR is a proud British creation, championed by Churchill, that protects everyone's rights and freedoms.

I’m deeply saddened at the terrible loss of life and injuries sustained in the attack on Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on Yom Kippur. My thoughts are with the victims and wider jewish community

Freddie van Mierlo, MP for Henley & Thame met with local residents in Sonning as part of a community-led climate lobby. The event followed a UK Mass Lobby of Parliament in July, where more than 5,000 constituents came to Westminster to advocate for action on climate change.

Great to catch up again with Debbie at the brilliant Watlington Rainbow Nursery. I’m reaching out to all early years settings in the constituency to learn more about the issues they face and truth about the government’s ‘free’ childcare hours.

Today I called in Parliament for better investment and care for our treasured National Trails - especially the Thames Path and Ridgeway. I also again highlighted the need for Marsh Lock Bridge to be repaired!

Freddie Van Mierlo has said he will "continue to fight for the funding and care" of National Trails.

This week (before Angela Rayner resigned!) I asked the deputy PM why the government is backing proportional representation (of sorts) for mayors but not MPs

Henley & Thame MP Freddie van Mierlo and local councillors have slammed plans for a new town in Chalgrove, saying it puts national security at risk. The site is currently home to the Martin Baker Aircraft Company which makes ejector seats for military aircraft.

I challenged the Foreign Secretary to sanction Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Sadly he declined to answer

It was an absolute joy to present the prizes for the Regatta for the Disabled on Saturday - especially the prize for the 'most enthusiastic'. Thrilled to be able to support this wonderful event yet again! Already in the diary for next year!

Failing regulator Ofwat has let Thames Water off the hook. It has allowed TW to pay only 20% of its pollution fines, and the rest in FIVE years time! This is an admission that Thames Water is insolvent.
ofwat.gov.uk
On 28 May 2025 Ofwat published its final decisions for two enforcement cases against Thames Water. These decisions included imposing two penalties on the company, one of £104.5m from the investigat...

The UK’s paternity leave regime is woefully out of date and out of step. Fathers and families deserve a better deal. The Tories refused to take action, but the government needs to get on with delivering change https://t.co/3fjtlbfuii

Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Congratulations Prime Minister Mark Carney on his stunning victory in Canada. The U.K. and Canada can move forward together in a more uncertain world. Vive le Canada 🇬🇧🤝🇨🇦

A privilege to be voted in as a vice chair of the APPG for PCOS, and to have the opportunity to chair the first evidence session on diagnosis. PCOS affects far more women than you might think, but there is no clear diagnosis pathway
🗣️ Today the APPG on PCOS held its first oral evidence session, focusing on the diagnosis of PCOS—a crucial step in improving outcomes for those affected. Thank you to those who attended for their powerful insights. 💬 #PCOS

Great meeting with residents of Eye and Dunsden. The villages are battling drainage and flooding issues and totally feel let down by the mess that is flood management in the U.K. They also felt let down by the Tories who neglected this area on the edge of the constituency.
