There are always odious things beyond any pale but it has genuinely made me more tolerant and understanding of people. I've noticed I seem to be better at navigating situations where people believe the exact opposite of what I do, and I'm still able to respect them.

One of the great things about batting around *insane person* ideas is that, sometimes, you realize the insane person ideas are right, but even if they aren't, you can understand how people reasoned to them.

I am convinced that exposure to weapons grade philosophy (outside the classroom, in my case) when I was in university made me a legitimately better person and I can't be thankful enough for it.
