I made this meme of my dog to encourage myself whenever I begin to feel like I bit off more than I can chew. It should be noted she eventually broke it in half. #persistence

Yes, ChatGPT is amazing and impressive. No, @OpenAI has not come close to addressing the problem of bias. Filters appear to be bypassed with simple tricks, and superficially masked. And what is lurking inside is egregious. @Abebab @sama tw racism, sexism.

Challenging AI art by giving it abstract prompts. "Access to Justice for the historically excluded" DALL·E made me law firm stock photos. Stable Diffusion gave me a political cartoon (?) and article spreads. 🤔

If this isn't in your radar, it should be. Tagging @GeorgeTakei in hopes to get it in his radar, too.

Gonna start a conference called #NormIPS that’s just presentations of middlebrow ML topics. “how to structure Python packages 2022”, “how many k-folds is too many”, “how to make the browser pop-up come up when the notebook is done running”, “putting features in Postgres”, etc.

A wild, appalling story: A group of hackers fabricated evidence on the PCs of Indian human rights activists who were then arrested for terrorism and jailed. Now researchers have found a direct link between those hackers and the police making the arrests.

1/ 10. Privacy is fundamental to ensuring freedom and equality for all. US Courts have long honored privacy traditions, including people’s right to access information and to act on that information to make personal health and medical decisions.

I once had a corp speaking oppy. The organizer asked my fee & I told her. She paused. Your fee should be at least $10k. Another speaker is getting $$$. Now what’s your fee? I raised my fee. That is how we help other women level up. Don’t contribute to exploitation culture.

Great* to hear that companies are reacting to new privacy laws the same way my dog reacts to me telling her to drop something: try to get it all faster before I stop her. *It is not great and STOP IT. https://t.co/ejorHhfqc0

Such great articles in the new issue of the AALL Spectrum! Particularly enthralled by Cas Laskowski’s article with Erik Adams and Martin Korn on DIY analytics. https://t.co/sAg0snwvlH
