I think there's too much hype about the practical usefulness of large language models in the very short-term in some AI circles, and that some of the claims made just after ChatGPT was launched have ~been falsified, or are on the way to being falsified.

@NanosaurFan1999 Wrong. Machine learning, from its very beginnings was always understood and meant to be a way of developing AI - and indeed LLMs and the generative models themselves are examples of ML as well. The problem is capitalism, particularly surveillance capitalism - not AI or ML!
