The $20B US ‘green bank’ program just funded its first project @CanaryMediaInc https://t.co/NHKpfblayL. Filling the gaps in private funding advances solar development.

Everyone should be ready to define: When used as an optional standby system, Article 702 shall apply; when used as an electric power production source, Article 705 shall apply. EVSE that consists of a receptacle outlet only shall be in accordance with 625.60.

Speaking of EV charger installations and circuit breaker service upgrades: apparently the National Electrical Code (NEC) has been updated to permit automated load sharing software/hardware to manage multiple EV chargers to avoid overloading a circuit https://t.co/3LCwj6mdgT

Really nerding out here. Local authorities need to be educated on meter collars as a means to connect EVs as a way to avoid panel change outs.

For half an hour on July 15, batteries supplied more power to California's grid than the Diablo Canyon nuclear plant. It was the first time this had happened, but it won't be the last https://t.co/d4045ozxwE via @business

In California, batteries now contribute 60 times more to peak capacity than they did in 2017 — a sign of things to come elsewhere, too.

Tonight we had a handful of volunteers making calls for @RepDanWilliams. In 1.5 hours we made 296 dials, recruited 5 volunteers, and identified 3 undecided voters. AND because we had a volunteer sponsoring our phonebank, we earned a donation of $100 for our candidate!

Addressing this will require thinking beyond fossil fuels and innovations in fully utilizing clean energy through approaches such as long duration storage (multiple days, large capacity). ISO-NE and states need to work together.

Greens got a new data point to argue that clean energy can be a winner in rural areas. But the strategy will be hard to replicate.

There has never been so much money flowing into solving climate change. We need even more. Yet this is truly remarkable.

Can't wait to see what folks think about the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework: 1)funding - power infrastructure ($73B); EV infrastructure & electric buses/transit ($7.5B each); 2) the Federal Grid Authority (financing transmission and/or clean technologies?).

Roberts does an excellent distillation of a new study - The design space for long-duration energy storage in decarbonized power systems. A must read!

To compete with clean firm generation, long-duration storage needs to come down massively in price.
