Denmark invests 2.9% of GDP in research; Ireland 1.2%. @Researchirel needs a large increase in funding @lawlessj @MichealMartinTD to make Irish research more competitive at an EU level @mleptin. "Fundable" research should not languish on a "reserve list" due to lack of funds
