It’d be so useful to get beyond the binary. Yes of course the NHS is underfunded, yes many clinicians are overstretched. But there are also cultural problems. The consultant most cavalier with Martha wasn’t overworked. The liver team was hierarchical and arrogant. Address it all.

The best decisions are made when we value the cognitive diversity in a team. Harmony might give us a warm and fuzzy feeling of being with people who are just like us, but a team of boat rockers will always come to more rounded, considered decisions. Encourage the rebellion!
Love this graphic by @tnvora on what 'rebels' want from their boss! Leaders need to create a culture where rebels are embraced for who they are: passionate, inquisitive, caring people. Value your 'rebels' and together you'll achieve great things. #culture #rebels #leadership

Are you going orange (the official WPSD colour) for #WorldPatientSafetyDay? We’ve had reports of NHS staff marking the day by wearing orange t-shirts, handing out oranges, baking orange cakes and plans to illuminate hospital buildings in orange light. Be sure to share your pics
