The team in the West Midlands did an *outstanding* job to recruit participants in Birmingham, Coventry & Stoke to the Moonshot arm of the FALCON study, helping to get lateral flow tests validated Julie Timmins has made a fantastic video here...

Close to 300 more participants this week - we end the week with just over 1,500 participants registered in @CastorEDC & more being registered as we speak - fantastic effort from all the teams! 👏👏👏

I couldn't agree more Jay and it has been the approach from the start. We need to continue be fully behind @NIHRresearch mission at eveystep now - the only way out of this for everyone- vaccines, diagnostics, treatments, health protection and social support.
@AdamJKucharski @charlot_summers @acmedsci Sobering reading in July. Despite efforts we seem to be tracking the modelling. 119,900 estimated hospital deaths excluding care homes this winter mitigated a little by dexamethasone. Research is the only way out of the pandemic @NCAresearchNHS @DarkNatter

What a week! We finish on 1234 participants entered into the database - but likely many more that the hard working teams haven’t entered data for yet The LFD evaluations at 14 testing centres are now complete. Thank you so much to everyone for your incredibly hard work!

📜The first CONDOR paper is out for peer review! We’ve undertaken a systematic review & examined the diagnostic accuracy of the FebriDx finger prick blood test for #COVID19. Evidence suggests the test could help to “rule out” COVID-19 in hospitals. ➡️ https://t.co/LgY70VfIfQ

Considering the news, I am happy to confirm that @falcon_study workstream B is recording stunning recruitment figures. Well above target. Nurses and researchers on the ground keep pushing new ground and I am struggling to work out which of our 14 sites is lead recruiter now.🙂🚀
