Returning here from the other place briefly to say that I reviewed the first episode of @bbcdoctorwho for GamesRadar. Annoyingly it went out earlier with the wrong thumbnail attached, but should be right now. Anyway, I liked it quite a bit. https://t.co/yK2EKwBxDK

Back at TQ today with album of the week
'A terrific, self-assured record that remains defiantly human in the age of ubiquitous AI. Inspired by Shoshana Zuboff’s critique of 'surveillance capitalism', the Canadian artist makes electronic music for people, not algorithms.' City of Clowns by #MarieDavidson is tQ's Album

Mainly on the Other Place now, but sticking my head back in to share this quick piece I wrote today about Lynch's mostly obscure, but surprisingly enduring comic strip, The Angriest Dog in the World. https://t.co/mQozttsEvY

The series ran for nine years in the '80s and '90s

David Lynch: one of the best to ever do it, and an immeasurable loss. Made one of the greatest films ever (Mulholland Drive) and the single greatest season of TV ever (Twin Peaks: The Return). There’ll never be another like him.

To the critics who championed us this year: thank you. Without a big ad budget or studio backing, your support has been crucial in getting the word out. End-of-year lists and reviews give people the confidence to try a black-and-white, dialogue-free slapstick in 2024. 🍻💯🦫

One of the year's best
Jabu’s swoonsome & stoned dreampop special 'A Soft and Gatherable Star' is one of the most quietly seductive albums of the year - essential listening for fans of HTRK, Rat Heart Ensemble, YL Hooi Exclusive transparent pearl vinyl - edition of 100 copies https://t.co/DWPU10KbD8

I've joked for years about how much I hate Muse and think it's the worst music played by some of the worst people. Only it wasn't a joke and I stand by every word.

I love that everyone saw basically a skeleton and automatically went "Cillian!"
British art dealer Angus Neill says he is the zombie from the ‘28 YEARS LATER’ trailer, not Cillian Murphy. (Source: @guardian)

Gonna say the same thing I posted on the other place. Really pleased as a fan to see this at No. 1 and also touched that it's a piece I wrote being. I love this band. They meant and continue to mean so much to me. It's my favourite record of the year by far. Broadcast forever.
'There’s a strange kind of emotional whiplash attached to Spell Blanket, which now feels a little like an artefact from a lost future or a dispatch from a parallel world.' #Broadcast - Spell Blanket (Demos 2006-2009) is No 1 in tQ’s Reissues Etc. of 2024

Rewatching “Twin Peaks: The Return”, and it feels like a show about the collapse of any sense of connection or continuity in contemporary American life. This is true even in the show’s structure: “Twin Peaks” is no longer an ensemble, but a series of disconnected vignettes.
