I've been also awarded the Drescher Award from my institution for Fall 2025, giving me dedicated writing time free from teaching. I'm incredibly grateful for these opportunities, which are especially valuable for faculty at teaching-intensive institutions.

"Selling Otherness on YouTube," my latest article, is now available online first in @IJCS_journal! I discuss "global CPM arbitrage"; YouTube's ad system rewards content targeting wealthier countries with higher ad rates, incentivizing creators to cater to those audiences.

In this piece, I introduce the concept of "identity-based content," which emphasizes the active utilization of the creator’s identity in digital content. The essence of this content lies in portraying everyday life from the creator’s unique viewpoint shaped by their identity.

Thanks to @NatComm’s Cultivation Grant, I conducted an exciting field study in Korea this summer. I had engaging conversations with door-to-door saleswomen and visited the Amorepacific Archive, which houses amazing documents showcasing the history of the K-beauty industry.
