Post-majority support services are supposed to help Indigenous youth who went through the child welfare system -- but what about the youth who are above the age cut-off for services, but still need that support?.(1/3).

Laura Arndt, the group's lead, reached out to CIRNAC asking for clarity, but said she's had no response. Two elders I spoke to for this article, who attended the school, said that this is another way for the govt to hide the truth of what happened there. (5/5).

With $0 of funding, the Secretariat doesn't have any money to fund ground searches, archival work wading through documents related to the Mohawk Institute, and employee salaries. They'll essentially have no ability to operate by the end of this month. (4/5).

That's despite the group having submitted annual audits that never previously disallowed those expenses, for events like Indigenous Peoples Day. On top of that, there's still millions unaccounted for in CIRNAC's claims of a surplus. (3/5).

The Survivor's Secretariat alleges they received an email from CIRNAC in the early hours of January 22 that was dated a month earlier, stating that the group was being retroactively disallowed funds from previous years of funding, in-part resulting in the $4.2 mil surplus. (2/5).

from me: @survivorssec, a group set up to investigate Canada's longest-running residential school, has been told by CIRNAC that they will be receiving $0 funding this year, the result of a surplus that the group says they don't have. (1/5).
