I visited every independent book store in Atlantic Canada over the past decade for this feature. It is my favourite @TheMaritimeEdit feature ever. Hope you enjoy reading it and I implore you to visit these magical emporiums yourself. Each one is special and should be cherished.

I traveled to petroleum underwolds in a sticky, shambling essay just published in @Hazlitt. Topics broached include George Orwell, Kate Beaton, Odysseus, and my grandfather. It was a pleasure to write and I hope you enjoy digging in.
