John Stapleton was the ultimate professional. A brilliant broadcaster and journalist. But he also showed respect to everyone he worked with. That is why former colleagues are so sad today. He was part of the team and we were all privileged to know him.

Don’t post here much now but felt compelled to pay tribute to John Stapleton. We met in Washington in 2008, and stayed in touch. He sometimes appeared on the news channel. Always encouraging, always kind. One of the very best in TV news. A true gent.
