Every breakthrough in training looks crazy at first. Weighted balls, velocity programs, tech-driven pitch design, TJ — all dismissed as “dangerous” or “unnecessary". But everything seems crazy until it doesn’t. Yesterday’s controversy is today’s standard. @KpiMh .#kpicrew.

Vision drives decisions — it’s the filter that keeps you on the right path. Athletes don’t need more options. They need a clear direction. When the process is not yielding the results you want, decide to solve the why. Don't think someone else can solve it for you. @KpiMh.

Most businesses think they’re selling a product. But products don’t create loyalty — desire does. A brand without desire is just another logo on a crowded wall. KPI isn’t just training. It’s a brand athletes want to be part of because they desire what others have achieved here.

Moral of the story - it isn't about these freeze frames. it's about the important stuff like strength, stability, athleticism, transitions, and. Using tech to measure and validate what you think you know

He gets to release & it appears his lead leg is not blocking & the pitching gurus would tell you this is a velocity leak. But. @newtforce shows he has elite force/clawback in his lead leg block & he threw a baseball 98mph. 6/6

He comes out of this move to be nearly perfect at foot strike. head on the line, throwing arm up/inside 90. this is a perfect example of why mechanics are nonsense & movement & transitions are everything . but. 5/5

This is where things breakdown - Landon appears to collapse on his backside, get his head too far behind the posture line, & not gain forward momentum. But. the @newtforce mound tells us that his force production & timing at this point of the delivery surpasses pro levels.

At leg lift he's what most people would consider perfect and his move out of this position is ideal.

Landon's first move is unorthodox. he keeps his right foot planted in front of the rubber while he swings his left leg back & to the side. A pitching coach might state this is too much movement. But - Landon has always been hypermobile in his hips. He's constantly searching

The #kpicrew OG athlete threw 98mph last week. He's been with me exclusively for almost a decade & we have never worked on mechanics - only motor preferences & athleticism, along with strength work at a young age. This thread is a breakdown of why "mechanics" are a fallacy.

The fastest way to fail is to believe you have nothing left to learn. Closed minds can’t grow — they just collect excuses. It’s like stepping into the box thinking you already know the pitch… until it blows past you. Humility is the price of progress. @KpiMh .#kpicrew.

Too many coaches are task orientated. do what I say and how I say it and then judge competence on if this was completed. Coaches need to be more skill orientated. what did I do to ALLOW an athlete to acquire a skill or figure something out on their own?. Release control to.

A task (taking out the trash) is different than a skill (hitting a draw with a 9 iron). A task needs a completion date. Do it or suffer consequences. A skill demands practice. I suppose you need to decide if you’re asking your students to take out the trash or draw a 9 iron!.

Everyone needs to read this. The Story of the Cracked Pot:. There was an old man who lived in a village in India. Every morning, he would place a long stick across his back, hang a water pot from each end, and walk several miles to the river to get fresh water for his family.

The player development space is crowded. Parents/athletes drown in options — every program claiming to be “the way". Too much choice doesn’t create clarity. It creates paralysis. It’s like standing in a batting cage with 10 pitches coming at once. There's only 1 "way" - Be Good.

Too many don’t understand this . People usually judge by words and get tricked . Judge love by actions… what does that person DO to show love . Words are a front, action is the reality . @KpiMh.

Love is an action. It's a verb. You can't just say it. You have to show it through what you do.

In training, timing is everything. The right program at the wrong point in your development can stall progress or cause setbacks. It’s like planting seeds in winter — the potential is there, but it won’t grow. Development is sequence as much as it is strategy. @KpiMh .#kpicrew.

It’s easy to judge people by their flaws. But if all you see are vices, you’ll miss of their virtues . Some of the toughest competitors are also the most complicated & toughest to coach/manage. Don’t write someone off because they’re messy. Invest in them because they are unique.

Most business leaders get stuck chasing status instead of building substance. The best way to grow? Find someone 10–15 years ahead of you living the life you want & start asking questions. Success leaves breadcrumbs. You don’t need more business hacks. You need 1 good guide.

yes. Movement is complicated, the solution isn't simple, but this isn't the answer (and this is coming from someone that pushes the limits of movement in the training environment). @KpiMh.

Is the industry making player movement and athletic development more complicated than it should be?.
