This Right here 👇👇👇 One year I tore cartilage in my wrist (TFCC) Grip strength dropped and I couldn’t hit water if I fell into the ocean Forearm Gauntlet 🔥🔥🔥
After hitting & speed work today @BeaconsBaseball got their first taste of the Forearm Gauntlet (3 stations - wrist rolls, rice bucket series, heavy bat series) #Rollbeacs #Strongwins

Baseball Flows (@BaseballFlowsHQ ) fixes this problem by rebuilding missing movement patterns: ✔ Hip hinge ✔ Rotational control ✔ Sequencing ✔ Energy transfer ✔ Flow + athletic transitions Better movement = safer, more powerful mechanics. 8/9

But most youth training skips this step. Early specialization overloads kids who don’t yet have movement literacy. They become over-skilled, under-athletic… and injured far too soon. 7/9

In pro ball, the healthiest and most consistent players weren’t always strongest… They were the best movers—fluid, elastic, efficient. They had foundations that protected them. 6/9

Research is clear: Kids who build movement skills first develop better sport skills later. LTAD + motor learning studies show athleticism → better coordination, injury resistance, and long-term performance. 5/9

Most programs chase reps and mechanics but ignore how the athlete moves. Poor hinge, rotation, or core control = stress multiplied with every rep. You can’t out-rep bad movement. 4/9

When athletes move poorly, they can’t absorb or redirect force. Every throw or swing adds micro-damage. Like driving on misaligned tires—it works, but breakdown comes fast. 3/9
Should kids throw curveballs? Or are we asking the WRONG question? I just evaluated a 10-year-old with a UCL tear… who couldn’t even do a simple get up from the ground! And we’re debating pitch types? This isn’t a curveball problem. This is a youth development problem.

Kids specialize earlier than ever, but move less than any generation before them. No climbing, sprinting, tumbling, or play = poor movement literacy. Weak foundation → higher injury risk before skill ever develops. 2/9

Totally agree — the overload isn’t going away But the answer isn’t just more strength… it’s better movement Kids need stability and flow before heavy loading Build the movement first → then add strength That’s exactly what Baseball Flows trains. 👉

Train Movement Flow & athleticism. The Baseball Flows program, developed by Dr Ismael Gallo, includes science driven movement exercises that will increase on field metrics, such as bat speed, pitch...
@flowsdoc We need a new movement on kids strength training to help offset the overload - because I don’t for see the overload stopping anytime soon!

Totally get it—the goal is to protect kids. But being too risk-averse can backfire If a player avoids curveballs until 18 but never develops deep core, sequencing, grip strength, or rotation… the FIRST curveball becomes the real risk It’s not the pitch—it’s the unprepared body
@flowsdoc My nephew's doctor told him, no curveballs until he's 18. Good advice.

Kids moved way more in the 80s/90s—their bodies were ready for rotation The curveball isn’t the problem. The lack of movement base is: poor athleticism and Flow When the body can’t sequence, the elbow takes the load Curveballs ≠ danger Poor movement + high workloads = danger
@SportsWageringT @flowsdoc I don’t agree. “Curve balls” assessment. If that’s the case no kids should throw a football either. It’s all a lack of kids growing up climbing, carrying, or lifting stuff daily with friends. The lack of grip strength development. UCL was almost unheard of until the late 90’s

Masterclass by @mookiebetts Warm-ups aren’t enough! Movement prep = getting your eyes, brain, and whole movement system ready to play You’re not prepping muscles You’re prepping movement It’s Neuro Prep! “You gotta be able to MOVE!” Watch til the end (Baseball Flows way)

@flowsdoc My travel coach drilled this into us. He said EVERYONE has a job to do. No one should get caught watching the game.

The message is simple. Train movements, not muscles
