It’s a coal mine. What grade, tonnage and recover of rare earths are you expecting, @ENERGY? Perhaps quantify this rather than just stating nothing at all.

Science communicators and illustrators. Please stop drawing the mantle as red/orange/yellow (eg this diagram from Wikipedia). It perpetuates the misconception that the mantle is magma or molten or liquid or whatever. It is not. Instead, make it green. Because it is green.

I knew there were a lot of fake accounts on this platform, but they are usually obvious. I had no idea how intricate and complex the ruse could be. Get a load of this story. 1/

Fluid Inclusion folks (I know this will get a lot of hits). I've only worked with Linkam stages, but always intrigued by the USGS gas-flow. Alas, at my new gig I have funds but for only one of them. Which way should I go? #geotwitter

How do I express that I’m concerned about the people of western NC and I’m also concerned about the potential future global economic disaster because Spruce Pine is the sole producer of ultra pure Quartz for crucibles that all global semiconductor production relies on?

Massive debris flow traveling at lightning speed in eastern TN! The preceding drought conditions followed by days of rain ahead of Hurricane Helene set the stage. This is incredibly rapid for a debris flow.

I was thinking about all the ways to describe the types of scientific papers out there. For example, there's the Tug of War paper, where the paper is framed as a tense debate with two strongly opposing sides. You come in and side with one side and become a hero for breaking the

Very proud of @sydneyunigeo PhD student, Chris Alfonso, who just published his 1st paper in GSA Bulletin! 👏 This project used spatio-temporal data mining (powered by #pyGPlates + #gplately) and machine learning to help find new porphyry copper deposits. https://t.co/ZbIMIGgSPa
