Unfortunate way to end the Bryant women’s basketball season But much respect to Bella Pucci and Binghamton
After her buzzer-beater for @BinghamtonUWBB last night, Bella Pucci comes in at No. 8 on the #SCTOP10 Today!

Love a local angle! (Matt’s father, Todd, is also a detective in the Attleboro Police Department)
The Catman Cafe in Mansfield goes WILD as Matt Boldy, whose mom works here as a bartender, scores the opener against Canada. 1-0 USA @wbznewsradio

Would’ve loved Salt Potatoes but I get it Other Ideas: •Syracuse Baldwins •Syracuse CitiChiefs •Syracuse Destiny •Syracuse Green Lakers •Syracuse Orangemen Nixed Ideas: •Syracuse Erie Canallers (Confused with AA Erie) •Syracuse Nationals (would seem like Nats affiliate)
NEW: The Syracuse Mets will make a name-change announcement later this week, GM Jason Smorol said. He added “Salt Potatoes,” the most-submitted name of 5,000+ entries, was not chosen, in part because it’s already used for an annual promotional weekend.

More than a century ago Providence abandoned plans for a 2-line subway system similar to Boston's Green Line. The decision haunts city and transit experts to this day. The story of what happened and why 👇 https://t.co/Mzf2PcmVzf

Providence drew up plans as far back as 1913, inspired by the success of Boston's historic subway line. Here's why it never went anywhere.

We did it, Rhode Island! The nation’s *worst* state for housing affordability and home building Congratulations to zoning restrictions, neighborhood character, lot size minimums, NIMBYs, & Everything Bagel YIMBYs on the big win!
The 2025 @realtordotcom report grades all 50 states on housing affordability and homebuilding using current prices relative to incomes and new construction activity. According to the report, the five worst states for housing affordability and homebuilding, all receiving failing

Reminder: If a celebrity makes a random, weird, likely vague statement about a big change in their life, it’s likely to set up a Super Bowl commercial n two weeks

I covered Cornell men’s basketball for @ESPNIthaca during some of the program’s toughest seasons However, I knew I could always talk with Bill Courtney after each game & on BTL — and he’d give thoughtful, honest answers Much respect for him as a coach & person. 55 is too young.
We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of former Cornell Men’s Basketball Head Coach Bill Courtney. We extend our deepest condolences to Coach Courtney’s family and all who knew and loved him. May his legacy live on.

To add: The only Sci-Fi realm show I recall sticking the landing was Firefly through post-cancelation film Serenity But would it have nailed it if it went five seasons like Stranger Things? It’s difficult to wrap up shows of this nature. Although I am optimistic with Severance

Stranger Things spoilers: Fan theories on Reddit would’ve been much more interesting than the generic, redundant, milk toast series finale But I’ll take no big swings over the *wrong* big swings like with The Rise of Skywalker #StrangerThings

After How I Met Your Mother’s series finale, I don’t think I can ever be *more* disappointed in a series finale than that one So whatever the Duffer Brothers have in-store tonight for the Stranger Things finale, I have low expectations but also a low bar (Just don’t kill Steve)

A great sendoff for Bown Yang, who against all odds became a mainstream fan favorite To borrow from Brooklyn 99: Bowen made SNL a better, more interesting place. So, thank you.

Overall, it’s sad As a fan, I think back to listening to 20/20 updates in my tent at Boy Scout camp to learn of Mets trade deadlines moves As a media person, my first on-air experiences in college & professional radio were anchoring sports updates An art that may soon be lost

This move: 1) Eliminates the news aspect of WFAN that balanced the opinion 2) Cedes listeners’ breaking news to social media & app notifications that idk if they’re checking (esp. while driving) Not sure what combo of audience research, ad revenue loss, & cost cuts led to this
I don't know if people realize. While anchors are done this week at WFAN, so are all updates. The "20-20 flash" was a staple for years. Many still get sports news from radio. While driving, or otherwise too busy to check their phones. Still valuable if done right. End of an era.

“It turns out that a police department run by a ‘DEI chief’ in a city with a gay Democratic mayor can do some damn fine detective work. Welcome to Providence, Rhode Island.” @DanMcGowan on how during its darkest week, Providence met the moment: https://t.co/c03KCcVJIb
bostonglobe.com
The city and its leaders were raked through the mud as police searched for the Brown University shooter. Then everything came together.
