Looks like some of the pressure to condemn āDEIā (an expansive set of goals and practices) came from conservative funders. Not so different from the rest of academia!. If saying that DEI is complex and nuanced gets you ousted at @uaustinorg , then theyāre clearly hypocrites.

Some joined @uaustinorg in good-faith, believing sincerely (if naively) that it would be free of ideological orthodoxy. This article suggestsāto almost no oneās surpriseāthat UATX in fact imposes ideological litmus tests on its faculty and partners.

Seeing a lot of replies to @AmiDar along the lines of:. "Israel is in a war! They should end the humanitarian blockade when Hamas surrenders or releases the remaining hostages.". If this is your take, then congrats! You're unequivocally defending war crimes. No rebuttals allowed.
