Curious to see how trying *as hard as he possibly can* to take SNAP benefits away from hungry rural white voters works out politically for Trump. Anybody got priors on this?

Turns out holding SNAP benefits hostage to hurt the other party is bad politics.

"No More Kings" is maybe 25% people who are against kings & 75% people who want the king to be someone with left-of-center politics.

We're seeing absolutely no sign that Trump's instrumentalization of Charlie Kirk's murder accomplished anything other than making more Americans feel sick.

🚨 @QuinnipiacPoll of PA - Approvals šŸ”µ Shapiro: 60-28 (+32) šŸ”“ Trump: 43-54 (-11) šŸ”µ Fetterman: 46-38 (+12) šŸ”“ McCormick: 39-35 (+4) The kicker for Fetterman is that his upside is coming from Republicans approving of him 62-21 versus Dems disapproving 33-54.

One consequence of the unitary executive is that shutdowns are the president’s fault almost _by definition_. You can’t claim the power to do anything you want and then shirk responsibility when shit breaks. Polls will show this.

No, pro-white bias is primarily responsible. That's not to say white people are "bad," or individually culpable. But you can't ignore the causal impact of pro-white bias—from old-school biological racism to societal structures that stack the deck in favor of the dominant group.

Dear black folks, Sit down… this is going to be hard to hear… White folks aren’t responsible for your problems. Other black folks are responsible for the overwhelming majority of your problems. Not white folks. Hugs, (for some of you) Zeek

No matter your version of a resolution, peace will never come under Netanyahu. Or, rather, it will only come under the current ā€œpermanent securityā€ approach (Moses, 2021) and will therefore only be temporary. It’s hard to imagine a leader worse for Israel that Bibi.

Netanyahu scoring a smaller audience at the U.N. than the average dive-bar open-mic night is a powerful image. Israelis are wary of the prospect of near-total global ostracism, and this will fuel their rightful unrest at home. Bibi is driving them into the ditch and they know it.

Could have something to do with Trump pledging to revenge-prosecute his enemies before proceeding to revenge-prosecute them.

I don’t know if James Comey is innocent or guilty, but I do know that when the Biden DoJ indicted Trump aides Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon, the WP and NYT treated it as straight news, not as Biden going after his opponents. But now, it’s all about Trump getting his enemies.

From waging lawfare against his enemies to policing his ideological rivals' speech, Trump is doing everything he accused the Dems of doing just months ago. It's surprising that a man of Trump's well-established and ironclad commitment to principle would do this.

One is trying to get people not to drink bleach or swallow horse dewormer. The other is an attempt to ensure that Americans' media diet consists entirely of undiluted right-wing propaganda.

Sorry, kids. Trying to control the spread of misinformation during a pandemic that killed almost 1.3M Americans isn't illicit state censorship; it's public health in a dire time. The FCC getting comedians fired because they're mean to Trump? *That's* fascist state censorship.
