Brilliant day at the @imtanational Conference in Portlaoise. Great selection of workshops and Tom Crawford's Keynote was excellent. I was delighted to present on the use of Retrieval Practice in Mathematics Teaching based on research with Mark Prendergast and Máire Ní Ríordáin.

Delighted to see this paper published today. In it we see Irish maths teachers say “grinds” are driven by exam pressure, income needs & systemic gaps. Most teachers provide grinds to supplement pay but some worry it worsens inequality & masks deeper issues in maths education.
