-“I empower the patient” – How do you do that? The only ability you have is to create the conditions for the patient to empower themself.

-We don’t need more time to do person-centred care. It’s how we look at it in the whole context, it is more efficient, it removes unnecessary and repetitive work we get stuck because we see it as an additional thing we do rather than just changing what we are doing.

-Rehab means returning to previous state. What if you don’t want to return to that? What if you want to be completely different?.-Reframing “What are your goals” to “What would you like to do or who would you like to be”?.

"I have found my voice. My suffering is given voice and is understood. I had time to tell my story. I wasn’t held back by fear of being judged. People listen to me, hear me, and see me. I am validated, believed, and taken seriously.".

Information provided was experienced as confronting, conflicting with deeply held beliefs . Accepting theory & applying learning in practice required reinforcements from multiple actors (family/media/public/health professionals). @rodrizzo_pain new paper!.

Patients' perceptions about PE should be monitored and might be addressed with communication strategies, educational content that matches patients' characteristics, and reinforcements over time.

Great paper discussing the issues and challenges with implementation of evidence-based practice for chronic low-back pain. As you can see, there is a interplay between many factors that can influence evidence-based practice within the clinical setting.

Just focusing on whether or not individuals follow prescribed treatment simplifies 'adherence' by treating it as a matter of personal responsibility. Systems thinking highlights the broader, complex influences on behaviour that are often overlooked.
