It was so great 2 connect! Terrifying that 25 years has passed! How the heck did that happen? 😳 It def laid the foundations 4 where I landed. I was originally inspired by my aunty who lived w MS & am grateful 2 @RonaMossMorris 4 supporting me to pursue my masters in that area.
✨ 25 YEARS! ✨.This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Health Psychology masters programme. Last week some of the very first cohort of students reunited to to celebrate with the current staff, and to share how the programme went on to shape their lives. @FMHS_UoA

We welcomed three new team members to @PCR_AUT this week. We also have two fabulous visiting researchers with us from Denmark for the coming weeks and launched our 2024 Seminar series. Starting the year as we mean to go on - making connections :-)

💯… but I am not holding my breath that the reframing will get any action from our current NZ govt. They are busy beating the individual responsibility drum w/o any accountability 4 the fact that structural inequities are only likely to deepen under their watch 🤷🏻♀️😢.
Research on 'social determinants of health' often treats these as if they are inescapable natural phenomena, a bit like the tides. Would it be better if we called them, 'Politically modifiable determinants of ill-health'? Yes. @FrancesMair @GrahamScambler @trishgreenhalgh.

Adding this to my reading for sure - looks spot on. Relevant to our current writing @LaytonNatasha @ReflectingRehab.
New editorial out now! I've heard it claimed this is a 'participatory era' for health research & services. The number of publications claiming to have done #codesign, #coproduction, or #PatientAndPublicInvolvement has increased by over 600% since 2014.

Excellent piece by @JohnJCampbell - “…the peace has been disturbed. If you haven’t noticed that it may be because the kind of resentment populism ACT and New Zealand First are increasingly experimenting with isn’t happening at your expense.”.
