We raced World Championships in 2011 with an outside water pit (making the first barrier less than 100m into the race) It makes for a wild start having a barrier that close, but 200m for the mile should help that a bit!
@emmajcoburn @WinfredYavi Is roughly 200m from the start to the first barrier about right, if you run a field of 12-15, or do you need about 300m? Just asking.

Dang it. Tweaked my ankle on a water jump with 1k to go. Had to DNF. Iβll be okay, just a disappointing return to racing after ending last season with my hamstring injury. Very very happy for my teammate Gabbi Jennings for her new PR 9:19 and 5th place!

I got in a collision early on in the race and then spent too much energy trying to catch up and died pretty badly my last 500m. Thanks @dldoha for hosting a great meet (mostly great, just not the lost luggage or getting tripped up part π)
