Anyway the moral of this story is that I’m very lucky to be a white woman in my thirties and also lucky that my five year old didn’t realize it was a police officer stopping us so she didn’t call him a bad guy (she knows what’s up)

Oh yeah his anecdote about how easy it is to fight it included a story about catching the same woman speeding a second time 27 minutes after the first ticket had me really wondering why that isn’t like… an automatic seizure of your vehicle!

Anyway I renewed my license and got my car fixed and everything is fine and the story of it happening with my whole family packed in, leaving town for a vacation, only to be told I was not allowed to drive or to use my car, is pretty funny

Like I’m hoping to not have to pay them because they’re a lot of money (neither are for me doing anything dangerous - expired license and then an issue with my parking brake that I didn’t know about) but it’s wild that he just walked me through how to get out of them
