My amazing father Gordon Harry Brooks passed away peacefully this morning 💔. This was the last photo I took of him as we enjoyed the sunshine together last week. He was a legend & I was lucky to be his daughter.
Taking some time away to be with my family ❤️ love you, Dad xx
My dad’s care home is receiving the vaccine on Saturday. Unfortunately, my lovely father caught

My last working day before maternity leave. I never thought this would happen again after a long journey of recurrent

Delighted to welcome the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

A momentous day. Being able to take my Dad out of his care home for the first time in 18 months. To the pub for Mum's birthday lunch. He savoured that pint. Happiest day. 💖
Reflecting on a *really* tough few weeks.
Important for people to remember that behind Comms channels are humans, doing our best under extreme pressure (and constant scrutiny), often working around the ⏰ & our mental health is fragile too 🤷♀️💙

My Dad is in hospital again with pneumonia & because he was in isolation at his care home & he's confused - we haven't been able to see him/speak to him in 2 wks. Mum told Dr to tell him we love him & are thinking of him all the time. This whole situation is really bloody hard 💔
My miscarriages have had a huge impact on my mental health. It's hard to express exactly how you feel but it's so important to talk so others don't feel alone. My heart will always be a little broken from my losses and I'm still finding my way through it.

Very hard 💔 seeing your parent move into a nursing home. The first wasn't right for a million reasons but we've managed to find Dad one with a south facing bedroom overlooking the garden. And he can watch birds and monk jacks from his window. I hope he'll be happy here ❤️
Happy to be 'back at work' today (with my lazy new co-worker Rafa 🐾) . Feeling lucky to have such amazing colleagues /friends who have given me so much support 💜. Miscarriage (in our case recurrent) is so sad and isolating, particularly during Covid. Very grateful.

After a really rubbish few weeks - delighted to finally be reunited with Dad / Grandpa. Didn't know at the start of lockdown if we'd ever see this one again. Overwhelming and wonderful. ❤️
My 2021 work resolutions:
* No back-to-back Zoom days
* Ideally no Zooms post 3pm
* 1 day a week with barely any Zooms (had this yest & was so productive & inbox 0)
* Guilt free breaks
* Saying no. I said no to an external thing I really wanted to do but knew would be too much
I get that ancient seats of learning aren’t expected to make typos. It’s rare that we do but hey we are human. And as if there isn’t enough to be worrying about in the world right now....
Normally we would ignore but there are ways of going about things.

Been feeling overwhelmed / anxious the last few days - the news, my dad being poorly, what's happening in the world - so took myself off on my own for a walk. Listened to the birds, watched the river, looked up at the blue sky. And breathed. And it really helped. 💙

My dad is my hero. We thought we had lost him again last weekend when he had to have his second leg amputated. Less than a week later he's back at his care home having a beer with my brother in the sunshine. He never gives up. 💜

Just had a lovely phone call with my Dad. At the end though, he said he was lonely 😔 - just sat in his bedroom at his care home - thinking. God this year is tough. And some days feel so much worse than others. Hugs everyone ❤️

So, it's not even the end of January and so far in 2021: My dad has been gravely ill with Covid, my husband has had skin cancer (thankfully caught early and all taken away) and we've had a 5th miscarriage 💔.
No more 2021, you're breaking me.
