If we want quality music somebody is gonna have to pay for it. Streaming services don’t pay properly, labels want a bigger cut than ever and just sit and wait for you to go viral, TikTok doesn’t pay properly, and touring is getting prohibitively expensive for most artists.

Matthew Perry was clearly just a great human, trying his absolute best to make this weird world a better place.

This whole ‘Albanese is still a progressive deep down, he is just a realist’ is such annoying cope Like being a progressive ‘deep down’ doesn’t matter if as Prime Minister he isn’t acting on that, it genuinely means nothing If his actions arent progressive, he isn’t progressive

Helium should not be sold for balloons. It's insane. It's literally a finite resource which is irreplaceable for lifesaving medical equpt - but sure - your 1yo snotface NEEDS a helium filled Peppa Pig for their birthday which they'll never remember.

Sucks that there is this narrative where music industry ppl are soul destroyers that aren’t looking out for the best for the artists that they work for. A lot of good people out there who just love music and want to get as much out to the world

Just saw a thread around the state of the music industry that ‘isn’t even about music anymore’. As a fan first, this discourse is so disappointing when there are GOOD, PASSIONATE people behind the scenes in a lot of industry roles working their asses off every day

the only thing that scares me more than the relentless floods and fires we see through our phones that eventually will come to all of us, is the total lack of response from everyone else as the world collapses in front of their eyes

I hate to sound like that guy, but I really do miss the days when we’d release a song and the promo strategy was sending it to a shit ton of blogs and having music lovers write about it and share it to other music lovers

Waiting till the last minute to buy gig/festival tickets is the best way to make sure a show is cancelled! Harsh but a reality, esp. For indie promoters who have no budget but ticket sales. If you want the show buy the ticket.

I see a lot of thought leaders say they know the formula to grow a personal brand on social media and it's always: -Post X number of times a day -Reply to X number of posts -Use X number videos each week -etc And none of that is true. The secret is the routine not the formula.
