Today was tough. Myself + the entire newsroom at @LATACO (minus our fearless leader @theglutster) were furloughed. The next two weeks are crucial! We need thousands of new members to keep me and my talented coworkers on staff. Sign up to save LA TACO - https://t.co/d8kVOM8K6R

I attempted to write the definitive story about restaurant fees in DC. This is a monstrous issue and has been a monstrous project that I've been working on for many months. Hope you will give it a read! https://t.co/QRIZEYyIoc

Surcharges are taking over Washington menus—creating confusion for diners, backlash for restaurants, and a fight over the future of eating out.

.@LAWeekly’s PR firm that sells best of spots in their articles to people threatened me with a campaign of “negative articles” about me and “forced to get your account banned / taken down using the mass reporting tools / software we have access to” if I don’t delete this tweet.
Dam, LA Weekly out here cold calling trying to feature me as a top 10 food blogger for just $500. 😂 this list will be more like “top 10 food bloggers willing to pay $500 to be featured in a defunct publication”

Fourth Street's Retro Row in Long Beach has a new bookstore dedicated to the culinary arts. Here are some photos I snapped of Kitchen Lingo and its owner Matt Miller.

There's a lot of important news rn but I would also like to report that the USPS responded to my FOIA request & released the 4-page firsthand account of the mail carrier who beat a turkey to death in Arden Arcade last year.

The Wapo is killing its Sunday Magazine, which was my home for 20 years. It carried some great journalism over the years, winning 2 Pulitzers. All staffers --talents all -- were just ... fired. The termination notice was as cold as the surface of Uranus.

Newsrooms be like “we take audience engagement seriously.” Yeah? Then how come you’re having coffee chats? It’s time to get serious. Four words: pie a la mode.

Better safe than sorry with winter coming up. Wish the city had been allocated more omi boosters while there was more hype about it.

I made an appointment for the new booster the day that the city opened up appointments. 24 hours later the city cancelled my appointment because they ran out of the new booster. A week later, I decided to just get a regular booster bc I wasn’t sure when they’d have more.
