It is ridiculous for @JasmineForUS to spout this baseless conspiracy theory about Dominion voting machines and shame on @marceelias for not refuting it immediately. https://t.co/Vrq8qEfFDc As a reminder Elias' Democracy Docket has written that "Trump and his allies have made

Outstanding discussion today
Amazing turnout last week. This Wed, we're discussing Patrick Deneen's work, including Why Liberalism Failed. Tufts Professor Vickie Sullivan (political theory) will be discussant. (We had a packed crowd last week and ran out of sandwiches. We'll have more sandwiches!)

atheist/agnostic Americans are now the biggest single voting bloc in the Democratic Party, and their leftist views may be alienating another of the party's traditional sources of strength ... new piece from me and Steve Ansolabehere https://t.co/dCiwaiRqoE

Our new Center is hosting a weekly reading/discussion group, starting next week. Next Wed. at noon, we'll kick off our series by reading "Seven Theses Against Viewpoint Diversity" by Lisa Siraganian. Tufts Professor Michael Glennon (Fletcher) will offer discussant comments.

Reminder that the first event of our “expanding viewpoints” center is today at noon at Tufts, discussing the AAUP publication referenced in this thread. On the downside, AAUP seems like a disaster. On the bright side, I’m sure we’ll have a robust discussion about this!

Our new center at Tufts, focused on expanding viewpoints in higher education, has posted a new position. This position will help with many areas of programming, but will be especially involved in student-facing roles. Come work with us! https://t.co/61S8DMkKM5

It is all too common for faculty and administrators to refer to a campus conversation or class discussion of public policy as causing "harm". We must challenge the use of this language.
We must repudiate the idea that "speech can be violence" once and for all. @glukianoff and I wrote about the dangers of promoting this idea on college campuses back in 2017, in @TheAtlantic: https://t.co/BkFKx2d1Y6

A 5-minute interview I did with @WBUR aired this AM. It offers a window into what we're up to at @TuftsUniversity with the new Center on Expanding Viewpoints. https://t.co/oVETAxj93w

It's official. We've launched a new center at Tufts to expand viewpoints in higher education! We'll have a lot going on this year: events, new curricula on controversial subjects, research convenings. https://t.co/VzWYwOQ1ga

The new Tufts center, aimed at broadening perspectives students are exposed to, comes as colleges across the country are considering how to expand "viewpoint diversity" under the Trump administration.

I second this. RCV politics are so odd. It's basically going after the part of voting that people find hardest - figuring out who to vote for - and making specifically that part harder. And the research is clear there is basically no upside to doing this.
At a time when Boston’s Election Department is under state receivership for our failure to effectively administer the 2024 election, now is not the time to make this major change. Our top priority should be to fix the current problems we already have.
