I have so many childhood memories of David Amess at community events and talking to his constituents. This, and not Westmimster, were my early impressions of politics.
#DavidAmessMP gave me my first proper job after university. Early on, I was absolutely terrified we had forgotten to tell him about an urgent call from David Cameron's office. Couldn't have bothered him less 'don't worry about that, Edward'. I don't think he ever returned it. 1/6

Last weekend I did something I never thought I’d do and officiated at a wedding. Even better it was my sister’s, and it was wonderful! Never really thought of civilian celebrants as an option outside of sitcom land, but I highly recommend it.

A brief thought on the UK: no serious upcoming pop performer is going to represent us at Eurovision. They want to go the route of Dua, Ed or Adele. But we have a rich and vibrant folk scene. Maybe we should be looking for the next Salvador, not the next Mans.
