AN UPDATE ABOUT THE PRESS GALLERY. I finally have an update about The Press Gallery (the newspaper clippings book), though it's not a positive one.

One day, I want to put together a coffee table book called "I swear there are only 20 stories" filled with old headlines.

If you're still cheering on this project (and I understand if you're not), the main thing I ask is that you be really nice to me (unnecessarily so, even, though honestly most people usually are) and cheer me on.

This project started completely by accident when I tweeted the "A Brief History of Nobody Wants to Work Anymore" in July 2022. In spring 2023, the book project launched. In summer 2024, I handed in the book. In 2025, the original publisher and its successor both folded.

If it does find a home & there's a non-financially ruinous way to get people who pre-ordered copies their books, I'll see what's possible, though I can't imagine what a plan that resulted in this would be. I suspect I'll need to drink more coffee and beer to figure that one out.

With Boundless winding up, the rights revert back to me. The book is complete (and has been for a year and a day now!), and I think it's quite fun. I will try to see if I can get a publisher's interest in the project. (If you know anybody, let me know 😁).

I held on with them after their troubles became obvious earlier in the year in the hopes that they would send copies to the 1400+ people who pre-ordered, even if it seemed realistic that I would probably never end up getting paid for them. This did not work out at all.

This means that the book will not be coming out from them. If you pledged for a copy when the project launched two years ago, you will not be getting a copy from them. I feel terrible about this.

While there is no official announcement I can find, I understand that the publisher (Boundless, who earlier this year, bought Unbound, who went bankrupt) is winding up as well.

If you’ve ever heard that. - The F-Word is an acronym for “Fornication Under Consent of the King”.- The Sh-Word is an acronym for “Ship High in Transit”.- Any other older word being an acronym. It’s untrue. Acronyms are, by and large, a 20th-century phenomenon.
