Tall buildings allow cities to host more workers on less land => Good for productivity, lower commuting costs, & preservation of open space. Potential benefits equate to 5\% of global income, of which only 1/4 have been realized due to height limits.

It's a great graph. But I can't look at international comparative polling any more without remembering that just 39% of French said they would take the Covid vaccine and 80% of Brits did. And then the final vaccination rates were almost identical. 🤷‍♂️

Interesting Dutch paper on the impact of BTL investment on neighbourhoods, found little price change, more resident change due to differing profile of owners/ renters.

🚨NEW PAPER 🚨: Do investors raise housing costs, crowd-out first-time homebuyers, and change neighborhoods? . My non-twitter co-authors and I study this question by tracking the impact of ban on buy-to-let investment. We can do so almost in real-time! . A 🧵(1/14)
